My ‘03 Stepside
"This truck has just the right size. I had to come up before. And I looked at the newer tundras. The Tacoma was too small the New Tundras too big. This model was just right for me. We have traveled across country, hauled wood, hauled pallets, hauled insulation, etc., all in comfort and reliability. All we have done is normal maintenance. Overall, this will probably be my forever truck!"

200,000 and still Flawless
"Build quality and fit and finish is great although the interior materials could have more soft touch. The VA likes gasoline a lot, and it would be nice if you could open the access doors separate without having to open the front doors but other than that for a 15 year old truck it does what a 55 to $60,000 truck will do minus the Creature Comforts."

"Toyota built to last. I would guess I can get 400 thousand plus miles on this truck as long as it is maintained. Sturdy and tight. "

"I bought this truck because the 2003 is one of the highest rated of the Tundra line. Fewest complaints on carcomplaints.com. Powerful 4.7L iForce V8 -- without the bulk and weight of contemporary Tundras. The Carfax gave me access to the vehicle's history (which was as clean as you can hope for). It also had the extended cab with 4 doors, but not the double cab. THIS was the truck I'd been looking for, for months. My first tank of gas I got 19 mpg in the city, running the AC like I had money to burn. This truck is everything I could've hoped for... AND, for the age and model, it had relatively low mileage. I hadn't thought I'd find one where I'd be able to negotiate a price I could afford (they NADA around $10K). But I found a dealer who found me one at auction and turned it for about a $500 profit (I paid under $6K) I love my truck. "
