User Reviews for 2004 Toyota Highlander
by Real Highlander on September 20, 2018
"1st generation Highlander (2001-2007) is not a popular vehicle but it is a great vehicle. It is durable, dependable, athletic, comfortable, and functional. "
Roomy and adequate
Not the most stylish design but not hideous.
Economical for its size. Handles well
The real value is reflected in the purchase price. Considering the 2004-2007 as the best of the 1st generation Highlanders, you can find a 9-14 yr old vehicle with 150-215 thousand miles for @$5K or even less....and this car is far from past its prime.
350 thousand miles is not too much to expect from these cars. This is the vehicle that gave Toyota its reputation of dependability, durability, and craftsmanship.
"We use this vehicle for everyday use. I like the power of the it and that it is capable of towing. We had limited space for the length of a car in our garage but wanted something that had good leg room. This vehicle was a couple inches shorter than my old Honda Accord but leaves plenty of leg and head room for 6 ft tall adults. I like the fold down rear seats for storage in the back. The only thing I don't like is that the middle console and the side panel on the doors come in a little toward the driver it they bothers my knees after a while. It may not be this way for everyone. There is also not much space in the console for storage for the driver. The leather seats on this model are much better than others and you don't slide around like with some leather seats." Read Less
