"We bought this Prius from TXDOT at an online auction in Nov. 2017 and have put over 52,000 miles on it in 2.5 years. Yes, it had had the hybrid battery replaced by the State in 2014 or I would not have bought the car. With regular maintenance, oil, and tires it is still running strong. Even though we bought a Mazda3 Hatchback yesterday so my wife could have an updated commuter vehicle, we plan to drive this thing until it breaks 200K or falls apart. Prius's are built to last. This is the third one that we have owned in 8 years. The first one, 2007, was totaled when my wife when she got rear-ended in 2017. The second is a 2003 we bought in 2016 from a TXDOT auction, and eventually gave it to my brother-in-law for a car that he is still driving. Finally, the third one is this 2004 that we will drive until it dies. We have always bought them used from reliable sources, and never had to invest more that $11K in one. If you want a good used, reliable, get you there and back car with awsome fuel economy. It is hard to beat a Toyota Prius that has been maintained, especially if the hybrid battery has been replaced before you owned it!!"
