User Reviews for 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe
Love this car!
"My Tahoe was not purchased new, yet it had below 50,000 miles on the odometer when I bought it in 2007. At the time it had electric bucket seats, radio and CD player with Bose speakers, a smart rear view mirror, and other desirable features for the time period. It has give highly reliable service for the past 23 years. I have had only two complaints: 1) Ride can be a bit bumpy on rough highway roads, to say nothing of rough city streets, and 2) the gas mileage has been way poorer than I would have liked. All in all I have enjoyed this car more than any other car I have owned. I would happily purchase a newer one."

Excellent layout, great seats, roomy, excellent A/C. Could have done with less road noise
This Tahoe is a beautifully designed SUV. It's exterior has not aged out as the years passed and the Tahoe retained it's good looks in the face of changes made to newer and newer models.
Performed maybe 95% of the way I needed it to.
Roominess, comfort, accessories, CD player, back seats amenities.
I have to drop the rating here because of the poor (by today's standards) gas mileage.

Very good SUV, BUT
"This Tahoe is a great car in many ways and I expect to get over 200k on the car, BUT the brakes line rust in areas that salt roads ($1100ish to repair), the instrument panel fails so true mileage in car won't be right if replaced, auto-4WD shifter is typical repair, and so it gas fuel pump. So I do recommend, but from my 2002 only had brake line issues. I would still recommend 2005, but these repairs are annoying."

Excellent Z71 ride
"With over 160,000 miles on it when I bought it I expected some repairs over this last year that I owned the Tahoe. Some unexpected repairs and some preventative repairs. Overall I'd recommend a Tahoe Z71 to anyone who wants a great "ride" with plenty of room!

Very comfortable seats especially on long rides. Plenty of room for 7 people(way back seats). Easy to get to the 3rd seat.
Like new exterior. No rust.
Extremely easy to get in and out especially with the running boards. Rear hatch is very accessible-easy to load and unload. When the hatch is open in bad weather it makes like an umbrella to keep you dry or out of the sun when we have an tailgate party!
Cost effective is an individual thing. I love it because of easy handling, great ride on trips, plenty of room, its size /full frame is protective in a crash, etc.
