It’s built on a Camry frame. I did not want a SUV that you needed a ladder to get into it. Very accessible- no running boards because it sits lower to the ground than most SUV’s - that was important to me...

It is a 4 cylinder so it’s very cost effective with fuel.

2006 Highlander Hybrid
"Great gas saver! Vehicle we bought has high mileage but I’m really good shape. Car Fax helped determine the repairs/maintenance the vehicle had over its life and might need in the future. "

"Bought used, with 108,000 miles. In excellent condition. Paid a better than fair price from dealer: Valued @ $11k+. Paid less than $9.5k. Checked out very well with local STS mechanics. Passed along to my son and daughter-in-law, with my 2 young grandchildren. My experience with Toyotas: Bought for the long haul; good maintenance records and comfortable, practical ride."

"I have the hybrid. The body and feel are tighter than new cars I've driven. The car has a complete carfax on maintenance and is a one owner. Good daily driver!"

"Was as advertised - clean except for prior smoker and good deal compared to all rest looked at over a period of weeks. Despite being on a dealer lot it actually wasn't that out of line. And vehicle itself is very utilitarian - recommend for any family. Toyota's are the most reliable I have owned in life as well. Not perfect but pretty close."

"I didn't realize that V6 miles are not equal to 4-cylinder cars. The rear seats are super comfy. Amazingly spacious. Loud in cabin."

"Was thinking that a small import truck would be practical, but after test driving Highlander with similar mileage and price the Highlander easily won me over. Very practical and comfortable and no blind spots. I highly recommend using a used car inspection service to inspect vehicle. I used this service and CarMax repaired all items identified and some that were not. "

"This car had good potential even needing a few minor mechanical repairs. It drove well and was solid on winding roads with straight ahead braking. It turned out that this car had been smoked in (not by the current owner) and had been deodorized with some chemical - possible Febreeze - that left my daughter with a moderate respiratory allergy reaction! No smoking and No pets in the car will FAIL my requirements in a used car!"

"Great vehicle.. Clean.. Well cared for. Car Fax helped me narrow my choice to this vehicle. I really like Toyota.. If you do the reasearch on the vehicle.. They're well worth the $"

by PETE IN SEATTLE on November 2, 2014

"172K miles but garage kept by original owner with all maintenance at dealer and all records. Very good condition. Car has been good so far. Mileage only about 22mpg for the first two in-town fill ups."
