German Awesomeness
"I own a 2010 A8 with 50K pampered miles. I’ve had very few mechanical issues with this car during my (6) years of ownership compared to the 2003 Audi S8 I owned previously. Regular/scheduled maintenance is expensive. Warranty repairs are expensive as well, although I only pay the deductible ($250) under a Fidelity Platinum coverage warranty. I’m nervous to own this car off-warranty, but I’ve enjoyed owning & driving this large touring sedan. The exterior is understated and subtle. The interior is top-notch and high quality. Power is effortless. "

High quality materials. Nice to the touch buttons. Well-crafted.
Exterior

Subtle. It doesn’t scream for attention. It has beautiful lines. Good curb appeal at a second glance.

It won’t smoke any cars off the line but 350 horses always feels good. There is never a lack for power. All power delivered smooth & evenly. Not nearly as much fun to drive as my 2003 S8, but a lot heavier. It feels a bit looser, maybe sloppy by comparison, but effortlessly holds higher speeds on the highway.

It’s like a limousine in the back. The long wheelbase adds what feels like a foot of extra leg space between the back seat and the driver. The result is a slightly smaller trunk, but I’ll take the extra leg room for kids & passengers all day.

I’ve had a warranty since day one, and I wouldn’t own this car any other way. Despite paying 40% of its MSRP when it was already 3-years old, it’s still a $90K sedan with maintenance needs (and costs) of a $90K sedan. Premium gas is required for this car, an expense I’m not I’m willing to take on with the difference between 87-octane and 93 octane being $.80 - $1.00/gallon.
