Subaru Review
"Bought this car with 226,000 miles on it based on Carfax report that showed impeccable maintenance record on car. Scheduled maintenance was performed every 3,000 for life of car. Over 60 records in file. Who does that? The other factor for purchase was the fact that the head gasket replacement and timing belt was performed. From my research, Subaru's have an issue with head gaskets blowing. If you are considering an older Subaru keep that in mind. It is a major repair requiring the removal of the engine. Overall this car was very clean with only a few blemishes and no rust. Drives great! Purchased for $4,500. I think I got a great deal. My mechanic went thru the car and agrees. Should get another 226,000 miles on it."

"Overall it appears to be a great car. Be aware of issues that have been documented. Dealer "safety" checks tend to ignore tech bulletins unless their brand. Car runs well good power and handling without sacrificing gas mileage. DYI maintenance is more complex than what I am use to."
Interior

5.0

Very comfortable, seats plenty of cushion, heated feature very good with 2 settings. legroom front and back very good. Headrests adjustable to comfortable height. Seat material seems very durable and cleans easy. Lots of storage and decent interior lighting. Harmon Kardon sound is awesome. Backseats fold down for functional storage. Little road/ wind noise.
Exterior

4.0

So far so good. Body panels seem to fit well together. Paint and finish seems good with no flaking or peeling. Doors sound very solid and well designed.

Acceleration is excellent as is the gas mileage. Boxer engine is great. CVT is different but smooth. Manual shift not worth the effort but can add some variety and fun to your commute. Handling is sporty but not stiff giving you a smooth ride for the most part. It becomes a little choppy on rough roads. Larger footprint on alloy wheels help hold the road. Overall very good for a car in this price range. Fun to drive.

"Great gas mileage. That's the only thing that's good on the car. Have a rattle that moves all around my dash. Wish I never bought."

"Looking for a second car. I was looking for a 2.5 liter engine, I came across this car with a 3.6 liter engine. The car runs fantastic, plus it consistently gets 28 miles a gallon with the type of driving I do ( 40 miles round trip to work and speeds about 50 miles an hour. The Subaru's are a bullet proof for reliability."
