The 2011 Audi A4 steals the spotlight in a crowded segment. The A4 is Audi’s best-selling vehicle, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a stylish sedan that comes with a lengthy list of features and is enjoyable to drive. The A4’s standard engine isn’t as powerful as those in some competitors, however, and the A4 has a tight trunk.
A compact sedan, the 2011 Audi A4 seats five. The A4 is available as a sedan and a wagon. Audi offers the model in three trims: Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard. A manual transmission and a traditional automatic transmission are optional. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.
Audi hasn’t made a lot of changes to the A4 for the 2011 model year. A new available eight-speed automatic transmission replaces a six-speed automatic transmission. A new Titanium Sport package is available for the A4 that brings 19-inch wheels, sport seats, a sport suspension setup and performance tires.
The 2011 A4 is quintessentially an Audi. The sedan has the automaker’s oversized grille and clean body lines. A long hood, sweeping roofline and character line that runs the full length of the vehicle give the A4 its lengthy design. The A4 Avant wagon has the same lengthy proportions as the sedan but a more curvaceous rear end.
A sunroof, halogen headlights with daytime running lights, automatic headlights, power-adjustable heated exterior mirrors and fog lights are standard. Optional equipment includes xenon-plus headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and chrome exhaust tips.
The 2011 A4’s high-end materials and excellent build quality help the vehicle stand out in the luxury segment. The dashboard is split into two sections, and the audio and climate controls are slightly angled toward the driver. The front seats are supportive and comfortable for long drives. While the back seats look attractive, passengers don’t have a lot of space. The A4 Avant wagon has 28 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the rear seats in place. Fold the second row of seats down, and the wagon offers 50.5 cubic feet of space.
Standard features include automatic climate control, a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, leather-trimmed seats and eight-way power front seats. Tri-zone automatic climate control, a three-spoke steering wheel with shift paddles, 12-way power front sport seats, heated front seats and a memory system for the driver’s seat are available.
The 2011 Audi A4 features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as standard. It’s rated to make 211 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A CVT is standard, as is front-wheel drive. Opting for either the six-speed manual transmission or the eight-speed automatic transmission brings all-wheel drive.
Fuel economy is excellent for the A4 at up to 22/30 mpg city/highway.
The A4’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine shines at daily driving. It’s smooth and effortlessly gets the car up to speed. All of the A4’s available transmissions provide a comfortable ride, but the six-speed manual gives the model a sportier feel. The vehicle has a stiff ride that’s firm around town but evens out on the highway. Around corners, the A4, especially with all-wheel drive, shines. The vehicle has tight and predictable handling.
The 2011 A4 comes with an excellent list of standard technology features, including a 10-speaker sound system, CD player with MP3 playback capability, satellite radio, 7-inch full-color LCD screen, an auxiliary input jack and an SD card slot. Optional features include Bluetooth, a HomeLink garage door opener, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, navigation, iPod and iPhone integration, a blind-spot monitoring system, a 40 GB hard drive, adaptive cruise control, voice control and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
"Great car for the price. I only paid 11k for it back in summer of 2019 and I’ve put 16k miles on it without any major issues. Only problem is it needs oil frequently. Great styling and many people even mistake it for a 2015 or newer. "
"I’ve had a Mercedes for years and in some ways it is a better car than the Audi. However, the Audi is much better looking and a lot more fun to drive. BMW is just not reliable and costly to repair. Overall the Audi wins!"
Good quality surfaces and a luxury feel.
It’s a matter of opinion but I love the look from all angles.
Not fast, it’s quick!
Not really a family car. Car seats would be pretty tight.
Important not to over pay on these cars because the turbo etc... can get expensive. Most parts are reasonable.
