"I loved this car until at 98,000 miles, the water pump went out. Now on any other car, you would see water rushing out from the pump in the engine compartment. Not so with the Edge. The masterminds at Ford put the waterpump INSIDE the engine so when it goes out, water goes into the oil pan and then the engine. If you are on a mountain pass and your check oil light comes on, you think ok, I can get over the pass and check it, which really meant you just fried your engine. I was not a happy camper. Our Ford dealer isn't very good and started with An $8000 bill to fix it. We ended up at around $4500 with our local auto repair shop.
Even if you don't fry your engine, it still needs to be dropped to,get to the water pump. Expensive repair. So, know if you buy and Edge this could happen to you. "
