The Sportage is compact but muscular. It has a wide body stance akin to that of a lightweight wrestler. A long and low roofline underscore the Sportage’s athletic appearance. The front is accented with an intricate dual-wing grille over a full-width lower opening.

Detailed sculpting makes its presence felt throughout the Sportage’s cabin. You’ll see a prime example in front. That’s where a horizontally concave area is scooped out of the dash to hold the infotainment system and center climate vents. Relief-style carving also distinguishes the door panels. The overall result is an upscale appearance that matches the Sportage’s exterior design.
There are 26.1 cubic feet of cargo space. Fold the rear 60/40 split-folding seats to open 54.6 cubic feet of rear storage.

The Sportage is fitted with a six-speed manual transmission and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 176 horsepower and 168 pound-feet of torque. The Kia Sportage SX has a standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is standard. This SX engine delivers 260 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard for the turbo engine and optional for the Sportage’s naturally aspirated engine. Kia also makes front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive optional for both engines.
When properly equipped, the Sportage can tow 2,000 pounds. That’s 33% more than the 2011 Honda CR-V.
The Sportage earns an EPA-estimated of 21/28 mpg city/highway with its standard engine and transmission. Switch to an automatic transmission and it’s 22/30 mpg city/highway.
Suspension upgrades for 2011 gave the Sportage a more engaging driving experience in all trims.
Standard Sportage features include Bluetooth with a four-speaker audio system, a CD player, a USB port, an auxiliary input jack and satellite radio. A navigation system, rearview camera and rear parking sensors are optional.
"It was a great deal on a slightly used, fully loaded car. There was no haggling with a traditional dealer salesman, and finding exactly what I wanted online was very simple."
