Outstanding
"6spd Standard 4x4. Quick. Nimble. Comfortable. Smooth ride. Plenty of headroom. Rear doors open up wide. Paid $9000 private party sale with 103,000mi in excellent condition. Wife loves it. Only problem is that it is so much faster than what we've been driving, we often find ourselves doing 60 in a 45. Can't wait to take it 4-wheeling on the AZ forest roads with a 2in lift and Kevlar tires."

First time we ever drove one was an automatic from a dealer. I was sitting in the back while wife drove. She was tearing the thing up.

great vehicle
"this has been a great vehicle -on road its quiet easy to drive plenty of power-I did add LARGER A/T somewhat aggressive tires-off road its great- I live in Colorado in the mountains -I dont use it rock crawling but some fairly serious roads around my neck of the woods that it doesn't even hesitate with .great all around vehicle.handles well on hwy and off road.I take very good care of my vehicles inside and out but at the same time I expect it to get me up the muddy rocky road with out hesitation -and it does"

"Right car, right price. 60Kmiles and clean as a pin. Tight, at least 18mpg city. 4wd, Off road suspension, 3 skid plates. Every accessory works from the off-road lights to the rear windshield washer. Also came with frame hitch and trailer wiring. This is the 3rd Nissan I've owned (one 2wd Xterra and one 4wd Frontier Crew Cab pickup truck)."

"Needed a vehicle that would stand up to country living, two growing boys, and one wild Siberian Husky. Most of the major consumer magazines had the 2012 Xrterra on the best used car buy lists. It's been great so far! It's solid, runs great, handles well, and seems relatively good on gas for an SUV. And, it's a Nissan, so you know it's likely very well built. Would recommend with two cautions: 1) Depending on the car you had before, this one can seem very 'plastic' on the inside. Not a lot of extras or added luxuries. 2) Be sure you know the differences between the S, X and Pro models. The Xterra is at a low enough price point that it becomes hard to add extras without adding to cost."

"Purchased based on durability off road as well as towing capability. Excellent 4WD capability and very durable. Not your fancy soccer-mom SUV but a true truck based, reliable work horse SUV that cost me less than the competitors midsize (4Runner, Equinox, etc)."

"So far so good! I had read previously that people complained that it drove like a truck and did not like the gas mileage. I am getting 20 mpg and it drives like a sports car to me. I am having to get splash guards for it, because I do drive a lot of unpaved areas, and when it rains that mud does splash on the nerf bars, BUT HEY! If your driving off road then it should be expected! I also find myself going a little over the speed limit, but I am trying to watch the speed. But again, it is a super fun vehicle to drive, and if a vehicle is NOT fun, what is the point in owning one?"
