The Cadillac Escalade is an American icon that puts luxury first with its bold, over-the-top design. The 2013 Cadillac Escalade is in a league of its own, appealing to everyone from celebrities to parents with a handful of kids to chauffeur. If you’re looking for a large, luxurious SUV that can seat seven, but is still easy to drive, the Escalade’s competitors are better options. Few vehicles, though, can match the Escalade when it comes to luxury and class.
The 2013 Cadillac Escalade is a large SUV that can seat eight. The Escalade is available in four trims: Base, Luxury, Premium and Platinum. The Escalade features a V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. Power is routed through the SUV’s rear wheels. All-wheel drive is available.
Not much is new for the 2013 Escalade. The SUV gets upgraded brakes and a few new exterior colors.
Everything about the 2013 Cadillac Escalade’s design screams luxury. The SUV’s larger-than-life styling helps it be distinctive on the road. The imposing grille, boxy silhouette and sharp rectangular lines give the Escalade a bespoke look that’s unlike anything else. Chunky fenders and bumpers are American touches that give the Escalade muscular lines.
Standard features include integrated assist steps, high-intensity-discharge xenon headlights, LED taillights, a power rear liftgate and fog lights. Power-retractable assist steps, LED headlights and a sunroof are optional.
For the cabin, Cadillac’s engineers went with a modern, upscale design. Clean, smooth lines give the Escalade an airy cabin that makes other SUVs look compact. Plush seats and high-end materials help make the Escalade ultra comfortable. Traveling long distances in the SUV is more than tolerable, as the interior is serene. The Escalade has one of the largest cargo areas in the segment. When all of the seats are in use, the SUV provides 16.9 cubic feet of cargo. With the third row folded, the vehicle has 60.3 cubic feet of storage space. In total, the Escalade offers an impressive 108.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity.
Standard features include adjustable pedals, tri-zone automatic climate control, an automatic-dimming rearview mirror, heated and cooled cup holders, as well as heated and cooled front seats. Optional features include a heated steering wheel and power second-row seats.
The 2013 Cadillac Escalade comes with a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 403 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard; all-wheel drive is an option.
The Escalade boasts decent fuel economy numbers. The large SUV can get up to 14/18 mpg city/highway.
Because of its large size and heft, the Escalade isn’t the easiest vehicle to drive in cities or around corners. What the Escalade excels at is being one of the smoothest and most comfortable SUVs on the market. Thanks to its high-tech suspension system, the Escalade provides passengers with a tranquil ride. The V8 is a responsive engine that matches the luxurious feel of the SUV.
The 2013 Escalade comes with a segment-leading list of technology features. Standard features include adaptive remote start, a 10-speaker Bose surround sound system, rear-seat audio controls, satellite radio, OnStar, an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, a rearview camera and a universal garage opener. A rear-seat entertainment system and side blind-zone alert are optional on the base trim.

User Reviews for 2013 Cadillac Escalade
by Sasha on December 17, 2019
"When you think of Cadillac you automatically think luxury and this vehicle is no exception. The Platinum Edition Escalade is the top end of luxury. This vehicle has exceeded our expectations and is the smoothest ride I've ever been in."
The interior is amazing with stitched leather seats and inside panels. I love the stitched Cadillac symbols on the chairs as well, it adds a certain level of flair.
The exterior is like a shiny diamond (Our car is silver) and we love the automated running boards that open each time you open a door.
Part of the reason we purchased this SUV was for the big engine. Our prior SUV had a 5.4 liter. We haul an RV Travel Trailer so the bigger 6.2 liter engine is great to have.
Our girls love the captain chairs and having their own tv screen in the front headrests. The 3rd row also comes in handy when we have additional passengers.
Luxury cars are not cost effective when repairs are needed however we replaced all of the shocks in the front and rear after buying. The engine is in great shape so I don't foresee any hidden costs in the near future. If you want luxury though you're going to have to pay. High end items will always outlast cheaper made materials so I have not qualms about paying more for this SUV compared to a GMC, Ford, import or other model.
"I'm very happy with my Caddy. I love driving it. It sits high. I feel safe in it. I love all the luxurious all top quality. Gas millage not the best but worth the trade for the safety n ride. I wash it once or twice a week. Like to keep it clean inside n out. I love the way it handles. All good!"
Love the colour. Very comfortable.
Love the colour black looks cool
Rides and handles great. Gas not so great.
Plenty of room and comfort inside
Price wise it is a bit pricey but like the old saying go, you get what you pay for.
"This car is beautiful!!! My kids love all the TVs and the fact that you can play 3 different movies so no one has to watch the same thing. "
