Prioritizing value and luxury, the 2014 Hyundai Equus is a full-size luxury sedan packed with upscale features. Comfort is high on the Equus’ list of highlights, as is a generous slate of technology features. The sedan isn’t athletic around corners, however.
The 2014 Hyundai Equus seats five. Hyundai offers the sedan in two trims: Signature and Ultimate. A V8 and an automatic transmission are standard, as is rear-wheel drive.
The 2014 model year brings a host of changes to the Equus. The interior features a new design for the dashboard and center console, as well as new trim. A revised exterior design with LED fog lights becomes standard. Lastly, the vehicle gets updated suspension tuning and more technology features.
The 2014 Hyundai Equus has a simple, elegant look that features clean lines. Large design elements, such as an oversized grille, massive headlights and generous fender flares, help the Equus fit into the luxury segment. Two sizable tailpipes at the back hint at the Equus’ powerful engine, and the wraparound taillights lend a modern touch.
Standard features include rain-sensing windshield wipers, a sunroof, 19-inch wheels, LED fog lights, xenon automatic headlights and heated side-view mirrors. Power-closing doors and a power trunk lid are available.
The 2014 Equus’ cabin matches its exterior design with handsome lines that make the sedan look high end. An analog clock prominently sits in the middle of the center console and is surrounded by clearly labeled buttons and knobs. The Equus is incredibly spacious, especially for passengers in the back. Materials are on par with what competitors offer.
Entry-level Equus models come with tri-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a 12-way power driver’s seat, heated and ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a power rear sunshade. A heated steering wheel, ventilated rear seats, power rear side-window sunshades and power rear head restraints are available.
In true luxury fashion, the 2014 Hyundai Equus is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. The motor is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Power is routed to the rear wheels.
Fuel economy for the Equus is rated at up to 15/23 mpg city/highway.
The 2014 Equus comes with a long list of standard technology features. Standard equipment includes remote keyless entry, push-button start, satellite radio, a 9,2-inch screen, navigation, a USB port, auxiliary input jacks, Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, a rearview camera, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, a 7-inch screen in the instrument cluster and a universal garage door opener.
Available technology features include a head-up display, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display screen, forward-view cornering camera and a multi-view camera.

User Reviews for 2014 Hyundai Equus
by David B. on December 19, 2019
Great Car and value for the money.
"The car is very comfortable with excellent seats and room. Huge trunk with easy access. It has the look of some of the cars costing $30,000 more and many of the same features. It has been reliable overall. My only complaint is the air struts have had issue which was covered by warranty but still not totally happy with the occasional slow inflation after a cold start up in the AM. Car did not hold a strong value so it is a steal on the used car market. "
All has been excellent and held up well.
The back and sides looks better then a Mercedes S class the front grill should have been different then the lower Genesis model to differentiate it from the less costly model.
The 5.0 V-8 has all the power you could want in most any driving condition, including wind and climb.
Very room and comfortable for those in the back seat. People commented it is like riding in a limo.
The value for the money is excellent, the resale value has yet to hold like similar quality cars like the Lexus and Acura. Far better then the BMW 7 series and Mercedes S class cars that take a huge hit at a higher original cost. It seems all the cars in the luxury class are poor investments and high cost of depreciation within the first 18 months.
"Good business limo. Powerful enough for everyday commute. Interior design are Mercedes like, you won’t ever say that this is regular Korean car, I bought it after sell my previous Lexus LS430 ultimate, i didn’t lose in comfort only gain."
No cheap plastic. Nice materials
Nice vehicle for long rides and everyday commute. Philosophy of car are smooth and comfort
It’s v8 5.0 premium fuel. Everyday commute in Chicago are 19.2 mpg
