Standard all-wheel drive is just one of the 2015 Subaru Impreza’s fine attributes. Complementing it are excellent fuel efficiency, a spacious cabin and a nice lineup of technology features.
The 2015 Subaru Impreza is a compact car that seats five, and it’s sold in sedan and hatchback body styles. Sedans are sold in 2.0i, 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Limited trims. With the hatchback, five trims are offered: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Limited, 2.0i Sport Premium and 2.0i Sport Limited. A single engine is available, and buyers can choose between two transmissions.
A rearview camera, cruise control and a 6.2-inch touch screen with upgraded infotainment options become standard for 2015. Also, Limited and Sport Limited trims are now available with a package that includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and forward collision mitigation.
The overall look of the Impreza is restrained, but there is a subtle athleticism reflected in the design language of its sheet metal. The car’s exterior features a slim upper grille, flared headlights and a chunky rear bumper. Hatchback models have a long, almost wagonlike profile.
Base Impreza cars come with daytime running lights, 15-inch wheels and body-colored exterior door handles. The list of available equipment includes heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, body-colored exterior door handles with chrome accents, adaptive fog lights, windshield wiper de-icers, automatic headlights, roof rails and 16- or 17-inch wheels.
The conservative look of the Impreza carries over to the cabin. Though a bit basic, the look is classic and clean, and soft-touch materials are found throughout. Both body styles provide excellent legroom for rear-seat passengers. The sedan offers 12 cubic feet of trunk space, which is a bit low for the class. The hatchback provides more versatility, with 22.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the rear seat and 52.4 cubic feet with that seat folded.
Standard equipment includes air conditioning, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, cloth upholstery, a six-way manually adjustable driver seat and a tilt-and-telescoping steering column. Automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats and a center console with a sliding armrest lid are available.
The Impreza provides a compliant ride quality and stable handling. Buyers can choose between a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a five-speed manual, and all models come with all-wheel drive.
Under the hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. Fuel efficiency tops out at an EPA-estimated 28/36 mpg city/highway, which is solid for the class and excellent for an all-wheel-drive vehicle.
Impreza cars come with a competitive range of tech features. Base models are equipped with Pandora internet radio, a 6.2-inch touch screen, a CD player, HD radio, a USB/iPod interface, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, an auxiliary input jack, a four-speaker sound system and a rearview camera.
Optional equipment includes keyless entry and ignition, a 7-inch touch screen, a six-speaker sound system, forward collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, navigation and satellite radio.

Great stereo and audio system.
Awesome driving assistant systems that also helps to prevent accidents.
Driving Reliability at any weather conditions.
The only thing though its that after 100,000 miles the engine will begin to faile."
"Really love our second Subie (we replaced a model year older Forester with this Impreza). The only reason it's not a five star s the it feels just a bit underpowered. It's 'okay' -- just wish it had a little bit more get up 'n go when you put your foot down. " Read Less
