So far so good
"I have only owned my 2015 Highlander for one month, I have XLE AWD with towing package. It is great so far, but feels huge on interior although does not feel huge to drive. The controls for radio etc are too far away to reach while driving-weird. And when I turn on heater-that musty smell comes out that is common with Toyota’s-why I do not know-Goes away quickly. Drives nice, great space, gas mileage has been very good. Slow pickup initially but engine sounds solid-runs well. I bought with 41,000 miles-barely at 43,000 so far like the car."

Auto tailgate lift is very slow, but love the option. Interior is nice just too large-can not reach far side of radio, navigation screen controls without reaching across and out of driver seat. Love privacy screens, shelf for small items....cup holders are awful-they are only for huge water bottles-what are they thinking?? But overall car is very nice inside.

A big low to ground with tow package, I may end up with the 2in lift in this car at some point.

Sluggish on take off, maybe d/t weight of vehicle? My 2005 was quick and fun to drive. This car however feels solid, runs well...just slow acceleration

Cars are just expensive now-hopefully, thd reliability and buying pre-owner will make it a good financial decisions-would never pay $43,000 for new highlander

Delivers What You Expect
"Refined, quiet, smooth handling vehicle with excellent build quality and smooth paint finish (no orange peel). Built in the U.S. which was very important to us, this Highlander XLE AWD has great creature comforts and Nav. MPG runs between 18-23 and with a huge fuel tank, fill-ups approach $40. This vehicle which we purchased used with 23,000 miles in January 2018 has not had any problems and an excellent track record since the model was introduced in 2014. Last note - the second seating area can be either equipped with a bench or two "captains chairs". If you don't require the middle seating position, opt for the chairs. Not only does it feel more roomy and open in that important second seat area, it also allows for better movement and communication with passengers in the third seat area. We also considered a Honda Pilot which was more roomy inside and possessed better back-up camera technology, but has been plagued with transmission issues over the years. Lastly, we also considered the Mazda CX-9 and experienced the 4-cylinder power plant to have plenty of power but was noisy (tinny vibrations on acceleration). The interior space was also very tight which was the deciding factor in passing on it. "

Excellent comfort, materials, ergonomics, and dash/control layout (which was a major factor in selecting this vehicle).
Exterior

Outstanding finish quality. High approach and high belt-line makes the windows smaller reducing visibility to the rear.
Performance

A heavy vehicle, there is some body roll around corners. Power to spare, good weighted steering feel and the brakes are excellent. Suspension soaks up pavement issues. High quality driving experience with the feeling of solidness and safety.

This is a family vehicle, perfect for those with 2-3 children who all need some space.

This is an expensive vehicle if purchased. New, our's would cost $40,000. We purposely looked for a low mileage, well kept used vehicle. After 3 months of searching, we found one just off a lease and purchased for $32,000. As we keep our vehicles 10-14 years to improve the investment factor, you can't go wrong with this vehicle coming off of a lease if it has low miles. Our previous vehicle was a Honda Odyssey with 210,000 miles on trade-in. I hope this review helps you!

"Handles great, sporty look. 2nd row vents seem to get bypassed more to 3rd row. More cargo space than Infiniti's version. 2nd row window shades are awesome with kids. Navigation system not user friendly, but works okay. 3rd row car seat bar is too wide for our car seats. Latch system in 2nd row is fine. 3rd row does not fit 3 car seats, but does recline. Would buy again. Easy to park. Comfortable ride. Easy to get kids in and out. "
