Great Car
"I'm in my mid 20's living in Boston and purchased this car with about 40K miles on it. I just hit 50 and could not be more pleased. Incredible milage, i average about 41/42 on the highway and mid 30's city driving. Very comfortable, handles great. Knock on wood, I have not had one single issue with it. Sometimes the blue tooth and entertainment system goes a little haywire but never had anything a restart hasn't taken care of."

Reliable and comfortable
"Great freeway cruiser. Mileage 37 mpg at 75, 42 at 45 - 55. 135,000 miles, may be consuming oil now, tail pipe looks good, hope it isn't slowly destroying Catalytic converter. Still on original brake rotors, pads and struts all around. Only one lightbulb has failed so far. Only failure has been an AC compressor electrical fault. Replaced compressor, apparently no one can actually fix anything anymore. Original headlights had significant gap between low beam coverage and high beam coverage, great for sighting squirrels in trees, lousy at seeing deer at 400 feet. Replaced one headlight housing due to rock impact off truck ahead, new VW OEM headlight is aimed properly between low and high beam. Dealer refused to do anything about it under warranty, said it met factory specifications. I disagreed then and now, and I have the VW part to prove it. So, car is fine, dealer sucks. Be careful who you buy from."

Surprised at valuation, supposedly lost 75% of value in 4 years 7 months. Suggests public perception of reliability is poor, but I have had no serious problems.

TDI Sel premium
"TDI diesel. This car can get in excess of 50 mpg on a highway trip. Very comfortable ride and fun to drive."
