Awesome Hybrid
"It's an amazing powerful comfortable economical vehicle. I'm very happy I tried it out and hope to enjoy it for years to come with fuel prices up after Harvey. "

At last a hybrid that drives like a car.
"After driving a Prius for 6 1/2 years and 85K miles, I appreciate the driving characteristics of Ford's C-Max. Better visibility and a more comfortable driving position. More power and better handling. However it is heavier and you pay for the 188hp with less fuel efficiency. This is 40mpg Vs 44 mpg with the Prius. The positives out way the millage issue. I did consider a new Prius, but they lowered the car and for me it is now too difficult to climb into. The Prius V has more cargo capacity, but I didn't care. I wanted a smaller, fuel efficient car to drive around town. This suits my needs fine. The dealer's sold this as a Prius killer which it is not, as it is a different kind of car. Because of all the bad press in regards to the MPGs, these cars are a great value to purchase used. Consumer reports gives it a great review, though it was initially critical of the miss advertisement of the MPGs. Everything is relative, maybe @ 30K it was over priced, but a used C-MAX SEL can be picked up for 10k less. In addition the 2016's have the improved electronics as they didn't use the embedded Windows product. It doesn't have some of the electronics like blind spot monitoring, but hey it has windows you can see out of so you don't need it. Mine has the rear camera and obstacle detection which works fine. I am not comfortable not having a spare tire, though on some cars I wouldn't change the tire anyway. However if the tire is severely damaged you do not have a tire to put on. The car needs to be towed. "

All the trim's fit and finish looks great and has a quality feel to it. At 240lbs and 6'3", the car as plenty of headroom, width and leg room. Good rear seat comfort also. Good ventilation in the back seating area with good visibility out the side windows.
Exterior

It is a car that is functional and practical. There are better looking vehicles, but not in this class. It is a MPV not a small SUV. However I never really thought the Prius was very good looking.
Performance

Great acceleration. The car needs to be driven in eco mode and actually seems to have a little better pick-up in eco mode, but the air conditioning is throttled back a little. However the air is better than the Prius and it has rear air vents for back seat passengers. The turning radius is not as tight as you would expect and I am not comfortable not having a spare tire yet. Also the braking distance is a little longer than you would expect, probably do to the weight of the car.

Great rear seating and ventilation with good visibility for the rear passengers. 5 stars on side collision and 5 star for the pole side collision test run in the EU. This is in comparison to the Prius 2 star rating for the latter. The Prius does beat the C-Max for front end collision with a 5 star rating Vs 4 star.

Great used car value. I am not sure how long this car will be sold here. The dealers don't seem to promote the car, maybe out of ignorance and often they are not in the show rooms. So they probably will deal on it. The battery and hybrid electronics have a better warranty on the components in regards to miles.
