Not cost effective really, but 2007 to 2015 Jaguars were part of the Ford family and I believe that helped with the reliability of Jaguars. And that helps with cost effectiveness. $800 a year for regular maintenance at dealership, but if that is the only cost for maintenance, I am OK with it. The value of a car as nice as this Jag is more than the basic driving of a car, it is the feeling you get from driving it. Grace, space and pace. Mobile art.

Zippy family size sedan with Brit elegance
"Overall fun to drive, especially in Dynamic Mode, which considerably tightens the steering and improves handling around corners and twisty roads.Fuel economy is not bad for power (340 horses) and size of vehicle. Cons: has some kind of electrical issue that makes the HVAC system blow out warm air both beneath the glovebox and out the rear vents, even while you have the A/C on low for the front. Trunk is large, but much of the space is difficult to utilize because of the depth. And even with sensors, this big boy is difficult to park, due to the body length and width. But overall, it's an immense improvement over my 12 year old Lexus IS that was dying a slow death, so can't complain too much. ;)"

They could have padded the sides of the center console, where your knees touch. And worked in a little color accenting trim.

Paint finish is very nice, and it and the wheels are holding up well to living outdoors.

The one thing I can't complain about-- Jag's are seriously fun to drive! Plenty of passing power, handles great in Dynamic Mode.

Insurance runs a bit higher than I'm used to. Fuel economy tends to be around 20 combined, which isn't bad for its performance.

Owner review 2016 Jaguar XF AWD Prestige
"This Jaguar is my first one. I drove MBs and BMWs for 25 years. I find it very well constructed, has excellent handling and performance and the interior materials are of high quality. The seats are very comfortable. I have driven it recently on snow and ice with the M&S All Season tires without any problems. The AWD helps of course. I find the 340HP 8 spd auto is a great performer--very fast--the Supercharger comes on line right away with no turbo-type spool-up delay. The Jaguar is very stable and quiet on the road. We feel it is a good alternative to either a MB E Class or a BMW 535. Al"

Quality materials and not just a lot of shiny wood to cover up plastic bits
Exterior

Beautiful, graceful design. Flowing lines and looks strong and aggressive up front and purposeful at the rear
Performance

Goes like a rocket. With 340hp V6 around 5 secs 0-60mph

Roomier in the back than my roomy former 5 series BMW. Comfy heated and cooled seats. Front seats are ergonomic but might be a bit tight for a really big person. The bolsters hug you for support when going through those S turns or on the ramps to highways

For this class of car, my Prestige edition with LED headlights and all the useful nannies and features like auto high beam, blind spot monitor signal in rear view mirrors and an excellent sound system, is good value in my opinion compared to the MB E class, BMW535 and Audi6, it's main competition. The smaller XE is proving to be a good competitor for the BMW 3 series which used to be a great performer. Everything is subjective but that is my opinion after 55 years of driving all sorts of cars in Canada and around the world.
