The Cadillac brand is known for offering a uniquely American take on luxury, and the 2017 CT6 puts a bold, homegrown spin on automotive opulence. The CT6 offers distinctive style, a roomy cabin and agile performance.
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 is a full-size luxury sedan that seats five. Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available, and the CT6 is sold in base, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum trims,.
For 2017, the CT6 expands its lineup with the addition of a plug-in hybrid model. Also, Phantom Gray Metallic and Bronze Dune Metallic join the list of exterior color choices.
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 boasts sheet metal that is brash and assertive. A five-cornered grille holds sway in front, bordered by standard LED headlights. Heated power-adjustable side mirrors supply sight lines of the road, and the CT6 rides on standard 18-inch wheels. The rear fascia is illuminated by LED taillights.
Base models come with daytime running lights, body-colored door handles and a capless fueling system. Upgrades include a hands-free power trunk, a rear spoiler, illuminated exterior door handles, a lock-control fuel-filler door, front-cornering headlights, a panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers and 19- or 20-inch wheels.
With sharp lines and fresh design cues, the CT6’s cabin makes a powerfully modern statement. Both rows offer comfortable seating, and the second row deserves special praise for its generous legroom. Gas-only models have a trunk that measures 15.3 cubic feet, while the plug-in hybrid offers 10.6 cubic feet of cargo space.
Standard interior features include dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, memory settings for the driver’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power-adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering column and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. You can upgrade your CT6 with heated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, ventilated front seats, a 40/20/40-split rear bench seat with ventilation and massage functions, memory settings for the front-passenger seat, a heated steering wheel and four-zone climate control.
Driving dynamics in the 2017 Cadillac CT6 are attuned to the road. This isn’t the norm in the full-size luxury sedan segment, where many models deliver an isolated driving experience. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.
All gas-only models are governed by an eight-speed automatic transmission and offer three engine choices. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides 265 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and it achieves mileage of 22/30 mpg city/highway. Next up is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 good for 404 horsepower, 400 pound-feet of torque and mileage of 18/26 mpg. There’s also a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 offering 335 horsepower, 284 pound-feet of torque and mileage of 18/26 mpg.
The CT6 plug-in hybrid teams the four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a continuously variable transmission. Total output is 335 horsepower and 432 pound-feet of torque. This model achieves mileage of 62 MPGe in hybrid mode and 26 mpg when using just the gas engine.
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 comes with an expansive assortment of technology features. Base models are equipped with OnStar telematics, a Wi-Fi hotspot with 4G LTE, a Bose eight-speaker sound system, Bluetooth phone and music streaming, front and rear park assist, a 10.2-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, three USB ports, an auxiliary input jack, keyless entry and ignition, satellite radio, wireless device charging and a rearview camera.
Upgrades include rear-seat infotainment controls, rear cross-traffic alert, a rear-camera mirror that streams video images through the interior mirror, a head-up display, forward-collision alert, a night vision camera, low-speed automatic braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control, navigation and premium Bose 10-speaker and 34-speaker sound systems.
