With the 2018 Q7, Audi brings its knack for understated luxury and superb refinement to the crossover segment. Offering poised driving dynamics, abundant feature content and a reasonable price tag, the Q7 represents a compelling value proposition.
The 2018 Audi Q7 is a midsize premium crossover SUV that seats up to seven passengers, and it’s sold in Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige trims. Standard all-wheel drive makes the Q7 an agreeable companion in rain and snow.
For 2018, the Q7 carries over with no notable changes.
The Q7’s exterior has a solid, seamless look, as if it were hewn from a single piece of granite. Design highlights include a massive grill, flared headlights and bulging fenders. The Q7 has an elongated profile that’s emphasized by artfully placed character lines, and base models travel on 18-inch wheels.
This Audi’s list of standard exterior features includes xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, a panoramic sunroof, heated power-folding side mirrors, roof rails, rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear fog lights, a power tailgate and rear privacy glass. Available amenities include 19- and 20-inch wheels, running boards and a towing package.
Buyers often choose crossovers for their roomy cabins, and the Q7 delivers nicely in this area. There’s generous legroom in the first two rows. The third row will do in a pinch, but accommodations back there will feel tight on longer journeys. With the third row in place, the Q7 provides 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space, and this figure swells to 37.5 cubic feet with the third row folded. Cargo capacity jumps to 71.6 cubic feet with both the second and third rows folded.
Standard interior amenities include tri-zone climate control, a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering column, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, a power-folding third-row seat and eight-way power-adjustable front seats. The list of available upgrades includes heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, contour front seats with ventilation and massage and extended Valcona leather trim.
Admirable power is on tap with the Q7, and the crossover also brings responsive handling to the mix. Gears are shifted by an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all models are equipped with all-wheel drive for enhanced traction in wet weather.
Base Q7 crossovers come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The second engine in the lineup is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque.
Audi’s Q7 can tow up to 7,700 pounds, and both engines have an EPA rating of 19/25 mpg city/highway.
The Q7 provides a generous list of standard technology features, especially when you consider that it’s more accessibly priced than many rivals in the luxury class. Base models come with Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, satellite radio, two USB ports, HD radio, a 10-speaker sound system, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors and forward collision mitigation.
Available technology features include navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring, a 19-speaker Bose sound system, a surround-view camera, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, a night vision camera system, a Bang & Olufsen stereo and an improved forward collision mitigation system.

User Reviews for 2018 Audi Q7
by Frankie on April 29, 2020
"Excellent ride that feels like the vehicle is hugging the road. Excellent power for a 7 passenger vehicle. Different driving modes, 4wd, eco, dynamic and a customized setting where it adapts to your driving style. Best seats."
The instrument panel distribution. The leather seats are so comfortable! Very spacious in the third row and the 2nd and 3rd row seats can be adjusted, either the back, forward/backwards or both.
Looks powerful and sporty.
A V6 on steroids. Supercharged. Fast and economical for its size. Transmission shifts flawlessly and excellent in Dynamic mode.
You can fit 7 people comfortably.
A little pricey but well worth it because of the built quality, comfort and ride. Very good gas mileage for its engine and size.
"Very high quality car, ride, acceleration, electronics. Everything is perfect." Read Less

Great Driving SUV, But
"Drives and handles great, best vehicle I ever owned. The BUT is the software which is very buggy - fails to perform as designed, repeated trips to dealer resulted in them passing the problem on to Audi headquarters - and nothing further has happened to correct the problems in a year and a half."
