Offering a modern take on the tried-and-true muscle-car formula, the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro delivers big results when it comes to performance. The Camaro impresses with blistering acceleration and razor-sharp handling, and its generous list of standard features provides compelling value.
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro is a sports car that’s available as a coupe or convertible, and both body styles seat four. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and the Camaro is sold in 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, 2SS and ZL1 trims.
For 2018, the Camaro ZL1 adds a 1LE Extreme Track Performance package that includes black hood wrap, a carbon-fiber hood insert, a head-up display and red Brembo brakes.
Chevy’s Camaro boasts the kind of sheet metal that’s crafted to command attention. In front, scowling headlights meld seamlessly with a narrow upper grille, providing an intimidating face for this performance monster. A long hood and small greenhouse give this car’s profile the look of a classic speed machine.
Base models are equipped with LED daytime running lights, a capless fueling system, power-adjustable side mirrors and 18-inch wheels. Options include automatic high-intensity-discharge headlights, body-side decals, center stripes in various colors, a rear spoiler, heated side mirrors with auto-dimming capability on the driver’s side and 19- or 20-inch wheels. A power sunroof is optional on coupes.
The Camaro’s cabin features sporty styling, and its front seats offer good comfort. However, the cramped back seat will be a poor fit for most adults, and the car’s petite greenhouse brings some compromises when it comes to outward visibility. Coupes provide 9.1 cubic feet of trunk space, and this figure dips to 7.3 cubic feet in convertibles.
Standard interior amenities include air conditioning, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a six-way power-adjustable seat for the front passenger, a folding rear seat, power windows and door locks, a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering column and a leather-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel. Optional equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting with 24 different color selections, memory settings for the driver’s seat, sport alloy pedals, red seat belts, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and Recaro front seats.
With its keen driving dynamics and roster of potent engines, the Camaro provides performance that’s visceral and memorable. All models come with rear-wheel drive, and three transmissions are available: a six-speed manual, an eight-speed automatic and a 10-speed automatic. Brembo brakes are optional.
Buyers have a choice of four engines. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque is standard on 1LS, 1LT and 2LT models, and a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque is optional on these trims. Camaro 1SS and 2SS models come standard with a 6.2-liter V8 that provides 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The top-dog ZL1 trim is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
The 2018 Camaro achieves EPA ratings of up to 22/31 mpg city/highway.
Chevy’s Camaro comes with a rich selection of standard technology features. Base models are equipped with Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, a 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio, keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera, two USB ports, an auxiliary jack, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a six-speaker sound system and a Teen Driver feature that allows you to set restrictions on younger drivers.
Optional equipment includes navigation, an 8-inch touch screen, a premium Bose sound system, wireless device charging, a head-up display, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert and a blind-spot warning system.

User Reviews for 2018 Chevrolet Camaro
by Kaufman on June 15, 2020
"Great car, Great fuel mileage and over all slick design looks great. My only concern would be the rear seats, Anyone of average height driving causes one to be cramped in the back. With my height no one can sit in the back. Might as well be a 2 seats only in reality."
"Just beautiful. Love the exhaust sound. Awesome car to drive." Read Less
