Backed by more than 50 years of tradition, the 2018 Porsche 911 is a modern-day classic for enthusiasts. The 911 offers breathtaking performance, along with a number of the industry’s most popular infotainment and safety technologies.
The 2018 Porsche 911 is a compact premium sports car sold in coupe and convertible body styles, and it’s available in more than 20 trims. These trims can be divided into eight main subgroups: Carrera, Carrera T, Targa 4, Turbo, Turbo S Exclusive Series, GTS, GT3 and GT2 RS. This Porsche seats up to four passengers, and both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are offered.
The GT2 RS trim is new for 2018. Also, GT3 models get changes that include a new engine.
Porsche’s 911 melds modern styling cues with retro influences. The car looks current and fresh, yet its round headlights, arched roofline and sloping rear window remain true to the design of previous models. The 911 lineup offers two open-air body styles: Cabriolet models with power-retractable soft tops and Targa models with power-retractable roof panels. Some trims can be ordered with aerodynamic extras.
Standard exterior content for the 911 includes rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, automatic xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and 19-inch wheels. Available features include LED headlights, tinted taillights, power-folding side mirrors, 20-inch wheels and black door handles. Coupes are offered with an optional power sunroof.
The 911’s cabin features a simple yet attractive layout. It’s bisected by a long, flowing center console that stretches from the top of the dash back between the two individual rear seats, and the overall environment is sophisticated and premium. Most trims seat four passengers, but the second row will be an uncomfortable fit for adults. Thanks to its rear-mounted engine, the car’s trunk is in front, and it provides 5.1 cubic feet of storage. The rear seats fold to provide a flat shelf that can be used to increase your cargo space.
Base models come with four-way power-adjustable front sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and partial leather upholstery. Options include heated and ventilated front seats with 18-way power-adjustability, a heated steering wheel, full leather upholstery and an assortment of wood or carbon-fiber cabin trims.
All 911 trims feature incredible performance and six-cylinder engines with two banks of horizontally opposed pistons. Powertrain resources include six- and seven-speed manual transmissions, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and rear- and all-wheel-drive.
The entry engine is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo unit that produces 370 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. More powerful versions of that engine are offered in Targa and GTS trims, while a 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine for the Turbo and GT2 RS trims can deliver up to 700 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche 911 GT3 is configured with a 4.0-liter engine that’s good for 500 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque.
Surprisingly fuel-efficient in its entry trim, the 911 can achieve EPA ratings of up to 22/30 mpg city/highway.
The Porsche 911 comes with a comprehensive lineup of technology features. Base models are equipped with satellite radio, HD radio, Bluetooth connectivity, two USB slots, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, navigation and an eight-speaker sound system.
Available upgrades include a 12-speaker Bose stereo, a 12-speaker Burmester stereo, adaptive cruise control and a blind-spot warning system.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet
"Great car. This is my third 911 and the best yet. Both more power and handling for sporty driving but also more comfortable for relaxed cruising. Very high quality materials throughout and simple, elegant design - inside and out."
Excellent space and comfort for a sports car. For a two seater, there is quite a bit of storage room.
Beautiful, evolutionary design. The 911 just gets better and better. Though, I got this 9191.2 intentionally as I do not like the 2020 design look quite as well as my 2018 car.
Performance is spectacular. My first 911 was an S. This one, and its predecessor were base Carreras which have way more than enough power for any driving I ever do. Lighter and sportier, with a little less power, is appealing to me.
As long as you want a 2 seat car, this is. A great one and much more useable than most two seaters. my wife likes this car fine. I got the 14 way seats this time (rather then the more articulated 18 way seats last time) as my wife thought the 18 way seats were a little hard to get into and out of.
My history of owning 5 Porsches says that they are very well made, virtually never need repairs, and hold value extremely well. So, this $100+K car is actually quite cost effective.
