Needs better engine.
"Ok, if you're looking for space and luxury this is the truck for you. If you're looking for speed in a truck I do not recommend this truck."
Interior

The car is very roomy. You will not feel like your cramped in the car. Nice space and the reclining seats in the back are nice as well.
Exterior

5.0

I love the body style of the car and the color.
Performance

3.0

I like the performance of the car. The reason for the 3 star rating I think Toyota could have given it a better engine as far a s speed.

High Praise for Our Highlander
"This is the best car we've ever owned. Love the thing. Recommend getting the highest trim level you can afford. The extras really add to the enjoyment of being in the Highlander. Intended to get AWD, but somehow just got the FWD model. So far we've had very little snow here in KY since that little mistake, but... if we ever do have a good snow, my wife won't ever let me forget it. EVER. So get AWD. "
Interior

Very quiet and comfy. Typical Toyota quality. Leather smells good.
Exterior

Have the white pearl mica paint, and it looks great.
Performance

Drives great. Plenty of power, but won't pin you to the seat. Gets the job done, no problems merging.
Family

LOTS of room. Plenty of holders and plugs for gadgets. Individual climate controls for everyone. 3rd row seat is actually usable.
Cost

Not really sure how to judge this, but it averages a bit over 23 MPG with a lead foot wife doing all the driving. Did I mention that she likes to use the remote start to warm the car up every morning during the cold season and run it for 10 minutes... it gets zero MPG when she does that. Still getting free scheduled maintenance, even with synthetic oil. Can't get much more cost effective than that.

Great SUV especially if high MPG is important to you
"Great vehicle. This SUV gets excellent gas mileage. Cruise control with auto spacing is very helpful especially on long drives. Over 50k with original tires and brakes. "
