Pretty Great Car
"It's a gas guzzler but it has an eco button when you can turn on and off the gas saving feature. It runs smooth and it fits five people comfortably and a large trunk for a lot of items. I'm probably biased because it's my first car, but I think it is a great vehicle, a starting vehicle for a growing family like mine at least."

Tough exterior. Got into an accident and it was mostly scratched rather than dented.

Would buy again, over and over!
"Great mileage (up to 25 mph in City, 36 mph Hwy), very roomy, reliable, great riding comfort, relatively quiet (except when flooring it), excellent handling, teutonic cabin comfort but not cheap or plastic-like, great sound system, best car of 21 vehicles I so far had in my life. My son liked is as well, bought the same one, just different color. Would buy twice over again. Still, after 2 years, take the long scenic routes when going somewhere because I L O V E to drive my Tiguan. Wonderful family car. For the money one could not ask for more. "

Functional, no BS design, quality materials, well crafted. If you want luxury, you pay twice as much for an Audi or BMW. But with a TIGUAN you get there in the same time, and comfortable as well. You just have extra money for that small boat you always wanted.

Timeless shape. Its a design that will not look dated in 8 years, VW does not do draconic changes every other year like other imports. Some SUV designs these days look almost silly like the designers were on drugs.....

Some folks say, the engine is sluggish, not powerful enough. Its an SUV, not a sports car! Besides, it has a "sport" setting, easy accessible by moving the gear selector and you will have no problem passing on the Interstate. If you need tire tracks on the the road, get a Challenger.I have a trailer hitch on my TIGUAN, and I pulled a fully loaded U-Haul trailer from North Carolina through the West Virginia mountains to Ft.Riley, Kansas , no problem. Engine has great torque in lower RPM's, never got hot.

Plenty of room, especially on the back seats, which are adjustable (!). I have no 3rd row. Its a gimmick, not enough room, maybe ok for small kids for short distances , but no adults!! But missing the 3rd row gives me super trunk space. Love it.

Due to the great gas mileage, savings are substantial, especially since this TIGUAN uses regular gas. The older version of TIGUAN needed super unleaded Gasoline. If my TIGUAN would use Super, that would have been a deal breaker. Had only regular oil changes and maintenance done in last 2 years, reliable vehicle, no issues. Recalls were done quickly, no problems. None of the recalls were severe in nature (everybody has/had problems, still, with TAKATA airbags ...)
