The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro is a perfect example of a modern-day muscle car. Like typical 21st century vehicles, the Camaro can provide plenty of high-tech content. This car can then flex its muscles with a variety of powerful engine choices.
The Camaro is a sports car that seats four, and it’s offered in coupe and convertible body styles. The 2019 Camaro lineup includes six trim levels: 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 1SS, 2SS and ZL1. The standard powertrain combines a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Eight- and 10-speed automatic transmissions, and V6 and V8 powerplants, are available for the Camaro.
Chevrolet has extensively refreshed the Camaro for the 2019 model year with new standard content such as upgraded infotainment systems, LED signature lighting, restyled grilles and unique front fascias for the RS and LT trims. The RS option package gets a new front fascia as well, while Recaro sport seats and a track-friendly 1LE performance package are also new.
The updated look for the Camaro puts a dramatic new face on all trim levels. The sculpting up front is especially detailed on the SS and ZL1 models, each of which shows its own unique execution. All models still maintain a distinctive sporty stance that’s complemented by a contoured body and a low roof.
The Camaro brings standard upscale cues like LED daytime running lights and LED signature lighting for its dual-element headlamps. Power-adjustable mirrors and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are available as well. Chevy also supplies a variety of aerodynamic features, option packages and stripe designs for the entire roster. Highlights include a carbon-fiber hood insert for the ZL1 and an RS package with an exclusive grille design and LED lightbar. Looking for more high-end equipment? You can also get the Camaro with LED headlamps, LED turn signals, LED taillights, a power sunroof, heated exterior mirrors and 19- and 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The 2019 Camaro features an exotic-looking concave dashboard with a distinctive dual-dome instrument-panel hood. There’s also an interesting arrangement for the circle-shaped climate vents. The center vents are located down below the climate controls and right behind the gear shifter. A folding rear bench seat is standard in all trims. For the coupe models, the trunk capacity is 9.1 cubic feet. Both of the Camaro’s chief rivals offer more.
The Camaro has a standard leather-wrapped sport-style steering wheel, with multifunction controls, and that’s optional for the 2019 Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang. Other standard Camaro equipment includes cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control and cruise control. Again, Chevy’s many packages allow for a wide range of customization possibilities. To enjoy premium comfort, the Camaro can deliver luxury-style options. The upper trims can serve up leather-trimmed seats, heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Front Recaro sport seats are available, too.
With the 2019 Camaro LS and LT models, a standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder powerplant is standard. This engine makes 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The LT trims offer a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6. It produces 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. In the Camaro SS trims, a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 is standard with 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. Chevy supercharges that engine for the ZL1. As a result, that model is good for 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
All models are equipped with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. An eight-speed automatic is optional for all trims except the ZL1, which is available with a 10-speed automatic instead. Performance upgrades for the Camaro include launch control and Brembo brakes. For a track-friendly setup, the 1LE package has you covered with a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and a specially tuned sport suspension.
With its turbocharged engine and automatic transmission, the Camaro has EPA ratings of up to 22/31 mpg city/highway.
The Camaro includes a rearview camera with its impressive standard infotainment system. New for 2019, this system includes mobile Wi-Fi, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth and six speakers.
The Bowtie brand also offers safety technologies like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a camera-based rearview mirror, forward collision warning, a head-up display, rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors. The Camaro’s infotainment options extend to a navigation system, an 8-inch touch screen wireless charging and a 9-speaker Bose audio system.

User Reviews for 2019 Chevrolet Camaro
by Jim Wallace on May 7, 2020
"This Camaro is by far the fastest vehicle I’ve ever driven straight out of the factory! 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, 650 supercharged horses putting 650 feet of torque to the massive rear tires! Traded a 2017 corvette for it with absolutely NO REGRETS!"
"Love our Camaro. Factory "run flat" tires ride too hard, will change them soon. Moonroof fits us nicely and works well, but would not work for tall people. Love the suspension and modes to fit driving style." Read Less
