"This Hybrid, the third hybrid vehicle, but first Lincoln (both of the others were Ford vehicles) we have owned is, by far, the best in quality, comfort and operation. The Fords (a 2006 Escape and a 2012 Fusion) had a limited range and speed limit for all-electric operation, generally about a mile and a half and about 45mph. The Lincoln will go farther, I haven't been able to identify exactly how much further in all-elctric, but I have had it up to 65mph in all-electric before it shifted to the gasoline engine. All have done the best with efficiency at about 65mph or less. None of the three have done well on extensive hills, but do much better on level or very slight grades. Also, headwinds are a downer, but tailwinds are a PLUS. The highest average mpg for the Fords was the Fusion at about 42, the Lincoln is moving slowly upward at 38.2. The Lincoln is some heavier, safer and has a higher profile than the Fusion which may account for at least some of the difference and the Lincoln is just beginning at 6500 miles, the Fusion was a veteran at 145,000 when it was totaled in accident, prompting the purchase of the Lincoln sooner than we wanted. We got exactly what we wanted and had intended to replace the Fusion with eventually."
