Looking for an affordable car you can buy with good standard technology, a comfortable ride, and a roomy interior? The 2019 Nissan Versa is a smart place to start with features like a 7-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth hands-free calling, as well as steering-wheel audio controls.
The Nissan Versa is a subcompact sedan with seating for five. It is offered in three trim levels: S, S Plus and SV. The front-wheel-drive Versa has a standard manual transmission with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) standard on the S Plus and SV trims.
For 2019, an SV special edition package is newly available. It includes standard 15-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, fog lights and front fascia chrome accents. It also adds interior features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button start, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, satellite radio, Bluetooth and hands-free text messaging.
The 2019 Versa sedan is distinguished by its large headlights, substantial looking front fascia and a black grille with chrome accents. The tail lamps that wrap around the rear body panels are another nice styling touch. Its sleek design is also aerodynamic, and that contributes to the Versa’s fuel efficiency.
Standard exterior features include body-color front and rear fascias, 15-inch steel wheels, chrome-accented multi-reflector halogen headlights, body-color power outside mirrors and short rod-type fixed roof antenna. Optional exterior features are rear tire air deflectors, 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, chrome door handles and a rear spoiler with an integrated LED brake light.
The interior element that makes the Versa stand out is its roominess. There’s more rear legroom than what’s offered in competitors like the Kia Rio. Two adults can comfortably sit in the back. It’s a practical interior with design flourishes like metallic trim pieces that can mask the abundance of hard plastic surfaces. The Nissan Versa has 14.9 cubic feet of cargo space, which is more room than most subcompact sedans offer.
Standard features are few on the base Nissan Versa and include cloth seats, air conditioning, four-way manually adjustable front seats and manual windows and locks. Available options are power windows and door locks, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and black center stack trim.
The Versa comes with front-wheel drive and a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the base S trim, while a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard on S Plus and SV models. When equipped with the CVT, the Versa provides EPA fuel economy ratings of 31 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.
The Versa will never be confused with a sports car. However, it handles well around town, masters tight parking spaces with ease and has a comfortable ride. The CVT, while smooth, can sound strained under hard acceleration.
The 2019 Nissan Versa has good level standard technology for a car that is usually thought of as value oriented. The base model includes a rearview camera, a 7-inch touchscreen and a four-speaker audio system, as well as Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, a USB port, an auxiliary input jack and illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Available features offered are two auxiliary 12-volt power outlets, keyless entry, push-button start, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and satellite radio.

"I didn't know when I bought this car that I would just love it. The Versa has plenty of back seat room and it's has just enough technology for me to understand. The gas mileage I get is off the chain. I just love, love love my Versa.
So much room on the back seat.
The exterior is just beautiful.
The drive is so smooth.
There is plenty room for your entire family.
I can't believe how much I pay for gas, it's definitely a gas saver.
